Ingredients

For the Chicken:

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1 egg, beaten

1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs

Cooking spray

For the Orange Sauce:

1/2 cup fresh orange juice (about 2-3 oranges)

Zest of 1 orange

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon water

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken:

    - In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder together.

      - In another bowl, beat the egg.

        - Place the Panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.

          - Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, then into the beaten egg, and finally coat with Panko breadcrumbs. Set aside on a plate.

            Preheat the Air Fryer:

              - Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

                Air Fry the Chicken:

                  - Lightly spray the basket of your air fryer with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

                    - Place the breaded chicken pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd. You may have to cook in batches.

                      - Spray the chicken pieces lightly with cooking spray to help them crisp up.

                        - Cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.

                          Make the Orange Sauce:

                            - While the chicken is cooking, combine the orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and crushed red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over medium heat.

                              - In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth, then add it to the saucepan.

                                - Stir continuously until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.

                                  Coat the Chicken:

                                    - Once the chicken is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and pour the orange sauce over the chicken. Toss to coat evenly.

                                      Serve:

                                        - Serve the orange chicken hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy with steamed rice or noodles!
