Ingredients

4 large buttery croissants

6 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup diced cooked ham (or substitute with cooked bacon or sausage)

1/4 cup chopped fresh chives

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

1/4 teaspoon paprika (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

Prepare the Croissants: Slice each croissant in half lengthwise, creating a boat shape. If they're very fluffy, gently push down the middle of each croissant to create more space for the filling.

Make the Egg Mixture: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder (if using), and a sprinkle of paprika.

Fill the Croissant Boats: On each croissant bottom, sprinkle a layer of shredded cheddar cheese, followed by diced ham and chopped chives. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the fillings, ensuring not to overfill. Top with more cheddar cheese if desired.

Bake: Place the filled croissant boats on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the egg is set and the croissants are golden brown and slightly crispy on the edges.

Cool and Serve: Allow the croissant boats to cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional chives or a sprinkle of paprika for an extra pop of color.
