Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1/3 cup melted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda

Pinch of salt

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 large egg, beaten

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)

1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix Butter and Bananas: In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and mashed bananas until well mixed.

Add Vanilla and Egg: Stir in the vanilla extract and the beaten egg until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the baking soda, salt, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg together.

Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry mixture to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to keep the bread light and fluffy.

Fold in Nuts and Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips if you’re using them.

Pour into Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top starts to brown too quickly, you can cover it with aluminum foil halfway through.

Cool: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve: Slice and enjoy your Banana Bread Delight warm, at room temperature, or toasted with a bit of butter!
