4 large eggs

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup canned chili (or homemade chili)

4 slices of thick-cut bread (sourdough or whole grain)

2 tablespoons butter, softened

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1-2 green onions, finely chopped (for garnish)

Optional: hot sauce, for serving

Prepare the Toast: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread the softened butter on one side of each slice of bread. Place the buttered side down on a baking sheet.

    Toast the Bread: Put the bread in the oven and toast for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.

      Cook the Eggs: In a medium bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until fully combined. In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, scramble the eggs until just set, about 3-4 minutes.
