Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 small onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Olive oil for cooking

Burger buns and desired toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc.)

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a small mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese with a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.

Mix the Chicken Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, diced onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and fresh parsley (if using). Mix until well combined but do not overmix to keep the patties tender.

Form the Patties: Divide the ground chicken mixture into 8 equal portions. Take one portion and flatten it in your palm, then place about 1 tablespoon of the cheddar filling in the center. Carefully fold the edges of the ground chicken over the cheese and shape into a patty, ensuring the cheese is completely enclosed. Repeat with the remaining portions.

Cook the Patties: Heat a large skillet or grill over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, cook the patties for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). You can also cover the skillet for the last couple of minutes to help melt the cheese inside.

Assemble the Burgers: Once cooked, place each cheddar-stuffed patty on a burger bun and top with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, and pickles.

Serve: Serve immediately while still warm with side dishes like sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
