Ingredients

6 large chocolate croissants, cut into bite-sized pieces

4 large eggs

2 cups milk (whole or 2%)

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Fresh berries (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

Prepare the Croissants: Place the bite-sized pieces of chocolate croissants in the prepared baking dish, spreading them out evenly.

Make the Custard Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine Mixtures: Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissant pieces, ensuring that all pieces are soaked. Gently press down with a spatula if necessary to ensure the croissants absorb the custard.

Add Chocolate Chips: Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips over the top of the soaked croissant mixture.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.

Cool and Serve: Allow the breakfast bake to cool for about 10 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Optionally, garnish with fresh berries for a touch of color and flavor.

Enjoy: Serve warm and enjoy the rich, chocolatey goodness with a side of maple syrup if desired!
