Cinnamon Roll Bliss Bars

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup milk

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

For the cinnamon swirl:

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons butter, melted

For the cream cheese frosting:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1-2 tablespoons milk (to adjust consistency)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

    Make the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.

      Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. If you’re using nuts, fold them into the batter now.

        Prepare the Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Drizzle the melted butter over the mixture and stir to create a paste.

          Assemble: Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Next, dollop half of the cinnamon swirl mixture over the batter and gently swirl it with a knife. Repeat with the remaining batter and cinnamon swirl.

            Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

              Make the Frosting: While the bars are baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until creamy. If needed, add milk one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.

                Cool and Frost: Once the bars are done baking, allow them to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Then, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly on top of the warm bars.
