Ingredients

For the Beef Filling:

1 lb (450g) ground beef

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ cup beef broth or water

1 tablespoon lime juice

For the Taco Assembly:

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 cup diced tomatoes

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup sour cream

½ cup salsa (your choice)

1 ripe avocado, sliced

Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish

Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

Cook the Beef:

    - In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until softened (about 3-4 minutes).

      - Add the minced garlic, and cook for another minute until fragrant.

        - Increase heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula (about 5-7 minutes).

          Season the Meat:

            - Drain excess fat if necessary, then stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the beef evenly in spices.

              - Pour in the beef broth or water and lime juice. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Remove from heat.

                Prepare the Tacos:

                  - While the beef is cooking, warm the tortillas. You can do this in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side or wrap them in foil and heat them in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 10 minutes.

                    Assemble the Tacos:

                      - Place a scoop of the beef mixture onto the center of each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, avocado slices, and a dollop of sour cream. Drizzle with salsa.

                        Garnish and Serve:

                          - Sprinkle fresh cilantro on top and serve immediately with lime wedges on the side. Enjoy your incredible beef tacos!
