Ingredients

2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 large eggs

1/2 cup sour cream

1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Fresh berries or fruit preserves (for topping, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Prepare the Crescent Roll Base:

      - Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and lay it flat on the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Pinch the perforations to seal the seams.

        Make the Cream Cheese Filling:

          - In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.

            - Add granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and optional lemon juice. Mix until well combined.

              - Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing until just incorporated after each addition.

                - Finally, fold in the sour cream until the mixture is creamy and smooth.

                  Assemble the Casserole:

                    - Carefully pour the cream cheese filling over the crescent roll base in the baking dish.

                      - Unroll the second can of crescent rolls and lay them over the cream cheese filling. Press down gently to combine.

                        Bake:

                          - Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.

                            Cool & Serve:

                              - Once baked, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for about 15-20 minutes.

                                - Dust the top with powdered sugar and serve warm or at room temperature. Top each serving with fresh berries or a dollop of fruit preserves if desired.
