2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes

1 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 cups fresh spinach, roughly chopped

1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus more for serving)

Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.

    Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to brown it.

      Add Tomatoes: Stir in the crushed tomatoes, sugar, and oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.

        Create the Cream Sauce: Lower the heat, then stir in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly until the sauce is well combined and slightly thickened.
