Ingredients

1 jar (16 oz) dill pickle spears

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil spray

Instructions

Drain and Pat Dry: Open the jar of dill pickles, and drain them well. Use paper towels to pat the pickles dry. Ensuring they are dry helps achieve maximum crispiness.

Set Up Your Breading Station: In three separate bowls, prepare your breading station.

      - In the first bowl, add the all-purpose flour, seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper.

        - In the second bowl, beat the eggs until smooth.

          - In the third bowl, combine the seasoned breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well.

Bread the Pickles: Take a pickle spear and coat it lightly in the flour, shaking off any excess. Next, dip it into the egg mixture, letting the excess drip off, and finally coat it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well. Repeat this process for all the pickle spears.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This step is essential for achieving a crisp finish.

Air Fry the Pickles: Arrange the breaded pickle spears in a single layer in the basket of the air fryer. Avoid overcrowding for even cooking. Lightly spray the pickles with olive oil spray.

Cook Until Crispy: Air fry the pickles at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through and re-spraying with olive oil for extra crispiness. Cook until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Once done, remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch dressing or a spicy aioli.
