Ingredients

2 cups rolled oats

4 cups unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of your choice)

2 medium apples, peeled and diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)

1/2 cup brown sugar (or maple syrup for a healthier option)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup raisins or walnuts (optional, for added texture)

Toppings: fresh apple slices, chopped nuts, a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, and a sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions

Prep the Crockpot: Start by greasing the inside of your crockpot with a little cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking.

Combine Ingredients: In the crockpot, add the rolled oats, almond milk, diced apples, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and salt. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

Add Vanilla: Pour in the vanilla extract and mix again. If you’re using raisins or walnuts, fold them in at this point for added flavor and texture.

Set the Temperature: Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, depending on how much time you have. The oats will absorb the liquid and become creamy.

Check Consistency: Once cooked, give it a good stir. If you find it too thick, you can add a little more milk to reach your desired consistency.

Serve: Ladle the apple cinnamon oats into bowls and top with your choice of fresh apple slices, chopped nuts, a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, and an extra sprinkle of cinnamon for an irresistible finish.

Enjoy: Dive into a warm bowl of deliciousness that’s perfect for breakfast or a cozy evening snack!
