Ingredients

2 large yellow onions

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Cooking spray (for crisping)

Instructions

Prepare the Onions: Peel the onions and slice them into ½-inch thick rings. Separate the rings carefully and set them aside.

    Set Up the Breading Station:

      - In a shallow dish, add the all-purpose flour and season it with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.

        - In another bowl, beat the eggs until smooth.

          - In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.

            Breading the Onion Rings:

              - Dip each onion ring first into the flour mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated, then shake off the excess flour.

                - Next, dip the floured ring into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.

                  - Finally, coat the onion ring in the breadcrumbs, pressing slightly to adhere. Repeat for all onion rings.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.

                      Air-Frying:

                        - Lightly spray the basket of the air fryer with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

                          - Arrange the breaded onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they don’t touch for maximum crispiness. You may need to work in batches.

                            - Spray the tops of the onion rings lightly with cooking spray to help them crisp up.

Cook: Air fry the onion rings for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Once done, remove the onion rings from the air fryer and allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or spicy mayo!
