1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

2 cups crispy rice cereal

1 cup dark chocolate chips

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the pecan halves on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are fragrant and lightly golden. Remove and let cool.

    Prepare the Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar, unsalted butter, and heavy cream. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a gentle boil. Allow it to boil for 4-5 minutes without stirring, until it reaches a golden caramel color.

      Add Flavor: Carefully remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt. The mixture will bubble up, so be cautious!

        Combine with Cereal: In a large mixing bowl, combine the crispy rice cereal and toasted pecans. Pour the hot caramel sauce over the cereal mixture and stir gently until everything is evenly coated.
