3 ripe bananas, mashed

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter, mixing until well combined.

      Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture and whisk until smooth.

        Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then stir to incorporate.

          Gently fold in the all-purpose flour and cocoa powder until just combined; be careful not to overmix.

            Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using), ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

              Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

                Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

                  Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
