Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

2 cups marinara sauce

1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Combine Ingredients: In a 9x13-inch baking dish, combine the bite-sized chicken, marinara sauce, elbow macaroni, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir until everything is evenly coated.

Add Water: Pour 2 cups of water over the mixture and stir gently to incorporate the water. This will help cook the pasta and keep the chicken moist while baking.

Bake the Casserole: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 30 minutes.

Add Cheeses: After 30 minutes, carefully remove the foil, stir the casserole gently, and then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top.

Finish Baking: Return the dish to the oven (uncovered) and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the chicken is cooked through.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
