The freezing process is critical when preparing your Frozen Yogurt Mocha Swirl Slices. Proper packaging is essential to prevent the formation of ice crystals, which can ruin the creamy texture of your dessert. After pouring the mocha yogurt mixture into a lined baking dish, ensure it is covered tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil. This will create a barrier against air, which can lead to ice crystal formation. For optimal results, freeze your dessert for at least 4-6 hours or until completely firm.

Ingredients

2 cups Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla works well)

1 cup milk (preferably whole or almond milk)

1/2 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee (cooled)

1/4 cup cocoa powder

1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust for sweetness)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Optional: chocolate shavings or coffee beans for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, milk, brewed espresso, cocoa powder, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract. Whisk together until smooth and evenly combined. Make sure there are no lumps from the cocoa powder.

Add Texture: Stir in the dark chocolate chips and sea salt to the yogurt mixture. This will add a delightful chocolatey bite and enhance the overall flavor.

Create the Mocha Swirl: In a separate small bowl, mix a couple of tablespoons of the yogurt mixture with a teaspoon of cocoa powder to create a richer chocolate swirl.

Layer the Ingredients: Pour the main yogurt mixture into a parchment-lined 9x5-inch loaf pan or a silicone mold, spreading it evenly. Drizzle the chocolatey swirl mixture on top and use a knife or skewer to gently marble it into the yogurt base.

Freeze: Cover the pan with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the freezer. Allow it to freeze for at least 4-6 hours or until completely solid.

Slice and Serve: Once fully frozen, remove the loaf pan from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for about 5-10 minutes. This will make slicing easier. Use a sharp knife to cut the frozen mixture into even slices.

Garnish (Optional): Serve the slices immediately after cutting. If desired, garnish with chocolate shavings or whole coffee beans for an extra touch.

Storing: If you have leftovers, store the slices in an airtight container in the freezer. Enjoy within 1-2 weeks for the best flavor and texture!
