Ingredients

2 cups plain Greek yogurt

1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2-3 lemons)

Zest of 1 lemon

1/2 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust for sweetness)

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, finely chopped

Pinch of salt

Optional: Extra basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Yogurt Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, honey (or maple syrup), and a pinch of salt. Whisk until smooth and well incorporated.

Add the Basil: Gently fold in the finely chopped fresh basil leaves until evenly distributed throughout the yogurt mixture. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more honey or syrup.

Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. This step allows the flavors to meld and enhances the overall taste.

Churn the Yogurt: Once chilled, transfer the yogurt mixture to an ice cream maker. Churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency (usually about 20-25 minutes).

Freeze the Yogurt: Transfer the churned yogurt to an airtight container, smoothing the top with a spatula. Freeze for at least 2-3 hours, or until firm.

Serve: Scoop the lemon basil frozen yogurt into bowls or cones. If desired, garnish with extra fresh basil leaves for a pop of color and flavor. Enjoy!
