8 oz (225g) spaghetti or your favorite pasta

1 can (5 oz) tuna in olive oil, drained and flaked

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice level)

Zest of 1 lemon

Juice of 1 lemon

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and black pepper to taste

Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside the pasta.

    Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

      Combine Ingredients: Add the drained tuna to the skillet, breaking it up gently with a spatula. Stir in the cherry tomatoes, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the tomatoes are slightly softened.

        Mix with Pasta: Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet. If the mixture is too dry, gradually add reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until you reach your desired consistency. Toss everything together to coat the pasta with the sauce.

          Add Fresh Herbs: Remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the fresh parsley and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
