Ingredients

1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

4 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional, for crunch)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: In a large mixing bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using, ensuring they are well coated.

Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, add the chopped bacon. Cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Once cooked, use a slotted spoon to transfer the bacon bits to a paper towel-lined plate, leaving the grease in the skillet.

Combine Ingredients: In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add the Brussels sprouts and toss to coat. Spread them out in an even layer on a large baking sheet.

Drizzle Maple Syrup: Drizzle the maple syrup and balsamic vinegar over the Brussels sprouts and toss to ensure an even coat.

Roast: Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the Brussels sprouts are tender and crispy on the edges.

Final Touches: Once roasted, remove from the oven and immediately toss in the cooked bacon and chopped pecans for an added crunch.

Garnish and Serve: Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve warm as a delightful side dish.
