Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

½ tsp baking soda

1 ½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp ground cinnamon

½ tsp salt

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

¾ cup buttermilk (or milk with a splash of vinegar)

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ cup maple syrup (for glaze)

1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Pinch of salt (for glaze)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard muffin pan or line it with muffin liners.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.

Fill Muffin Tin: Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.

Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.

Prepare Glaze: While the muffins are baking, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup, powdered sugar, and a pinch of salt, mixing until smooth. If the glaze is too thick, add a little more maple syrup or warm water to reach your desired consistency.

Cool Muffins: Once the muffins are baked, allow them to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Glaze Muffins: While the muffins are still warm, dip the tops in the glaze, allowing the excess to drip off. Place back on the wire rack to let the glaze set.

Serve: Once the glaze has set, enjoy your delicious maple glazed donut muffins with a hot cup of coffee or tea!
