Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 lb spicy breakfast sausage

1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies (like Ro-Tel)

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup sour cream

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese

1 packet taco seasoning

1 jalapeño, finely chopped (optional, for extra heat)

1/2 cup green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Tortilla chips (for serving)

Instructions

Brown the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and breakfast sausage. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Drain excess fat.

Add Seasoning: Stir in the taco seasoning, mixing thoroughly to coat the meats.

Combine Additional Ingredients: Lower the heat to medium-low. Add in the cream cheese and sour cream, stirring until melted and combined. Then, mix in the black beans, diced tomatoes with green chilies, and half of the cheddar and pepper jack cheeses.

Heat Through: Continue cooking on low until everything is heated through and the cheese has melted, about 5-7 minutes. If using, stir in the chopped jalapeño for a kick.

Transfer to Serving Dish: Pour the dip into a large, oven-safe baking dish or a slow cooker.

Top with Cheese: Evenly sprinkle the remaining cheddar and pepper jack cheeses over the top of the dip.

Broil or Bake: If using the oven, broil on high for 3-5 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden. If using a slow cooker, cover and heat on high until the cheese has melted, about 30 minutes.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve hot with tortilla chips for dipping.
