Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup diced bell peppers (mix of red and green)

1 cup diced onion

2 cups shredded cheese (Mexican blend)

1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1 jalapeño, thinly sliced (optional for heat)

Salsa, for serving

Olive oil, for cooking

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground chicken and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Add Veggies: Stir in the diced bell peppers and onion. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the veggies are tender.

Season the Mixture: Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the chicken mixture. Add a splash of water (about 1/4 cup) and stir to combine. Allow to cook for another minute until the chicken is coated evenly.

Prepare the Dough: On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, separate the crescent roll dough into triangles.

Form the Ring: Arrange the triangles in a circle on the baking sheet, overlapping them slightly to form a ring. Leave space in the center for filling.

Fill the Ring: Spoon the chicken mixture into the center of the crescent ring, then sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top.

Fold the Dough: Pull the points of the crescent dough over the filling to create a sealed ring. Tuck the tips under the base to secure the filling.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Garnish and Serve: Once out of the oven, let the ring cool for a few minutes. Drizzle sour cream over the top and garnish with fresh cilantro and jalapeño slices, if desired. Serve with salsa on the side for dipping.
