When preparing your Mini Turkey Cheddar Roll-Up Melts, the first step toward achieving a visually appealing presentation is to use a sharp knife. A sharp knife allows for clean cuts, which are crucial when slicing your roll-ups into bite-sized pieces. If your knife is dull, you risk squishing the roll-ups, leading to uneven shapes and potentially spilling the filling. Aim for uniform pieces that are approximately 1 to 2 inches long. This size is not only perfect for snacking but also ensures that every bite is packed with flavor and ingredients, enhancing the overall eating experience.

Ingredients

8 oz sliced turkey breast

8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, sliced

4 large spinach or flour tortillas

1/4 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 cup diced tomatoes

1/4 cup sliced green onions

Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

Preparation of the Spreads: In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until well combined to create a smooth spread.

Assembling the Roll-Ups: Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the surface of the tortilla.

Layer the Filling: On top of the spread, layer slices of turkey and cheddar cheese, followed by shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and sliced green onions. Make sure to leave a small border around the edges to prevent overflow.

Rolling It Up: Starting from one end of the tortilla, tightly roll it away from you, ensuring the fillings are snug inside. Once you reach the end, gently press to seal the roll.

Slice the Rolls: Using a sharp knife, slice the roll into bite-sized pieces, approximately 1.5 to 2 inches in width. You should get about 8-10 pieces per roll.

Cooking the Mini Melts: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a teaspoon of olive oil. Once hot, place the roll-up pieces cut side down in the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese begins to melt. Flip carefully to ensure even cooking on all sides, about another 2-3 minutes.

Serving: Remove the roll-ups from the skillet and let them cool slightly before serving. Pair with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or extra mustard.
