200g (7 oz) mixed mushrooms (e.g., shiitake, cremini, and oyster), cleaned and sliced

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)

Salt and pepper to taste

4 slices of rustic bread (sourdough or whole grain recommended)

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
