Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 lemon (zested and juiced)

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients: Start by rinsing the shrimp under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels. Trim and cut the asparagus into 2-inch pieces. Set everything aside.

Season the Shrimp: In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, olive oil, paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss everything together until the shrimp are well coated. Let marinate for about 10-15 minutes while you prepare the asparagus.

Sauté the Asparagus: In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the asparagus pieces. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and just tender, but still crisp. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Remove the asparagus from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the marinated shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

Combine: Once the shrimp are cooked, return the sautéed asparagus to the pan. Toss everything together gently to combine, allowing it to heat through for an extra minute if needed.

Serve: Plate the lemon garlic shrimp and asparagus, garnishing with freshly chopped parsley. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of citrus.
