Ingredients

1 cup pecans, chopped

1 can (15 oz) pure pumpkin puree

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup water

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Baking Dish: Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Mix the Pumpkin Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix until smooth and well blended.

Layer the Ingredients: Pour the pumpkin mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the chopped pecans on top of the pumpkin layer.

Add the Cake Mix: Open the box of yellow cake mix and sprinkle it evenly over the pecans and pumpkin mixture. Do not stir; simply layer it on top.

Prepare the Butter Mixture: In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter with the brown sugar and water until well combined. Pour this mixture evenly over the cake mix layer, allowing it to soak in.

Bake the Cake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 50-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, allow the cake to cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top.
