¾ cup warm water (110°F)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon sugar

1 cup pizza sauce

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup sliced pepperoni

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

2 tablespoons honey

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.

    Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour along with olive oil. Mix until it forms a dough.

      Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.

        Let it Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

          Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C), and if you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.

            Shape the Pizza Base: After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Transfer it to a baking sheet or a pizza peel.

              Assemble the Pizza: Spread the pizza sauce evenly on the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the sauce, and then layer on the pepperoni slices.
