Ingredients

For the Pumpkin Bread:

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

½ teaspoon ground ginger

½ cup vegetable oil

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 cup canned pure pumpkin puree

¼ cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cream Cheese Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

¼ cup powdered sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

Instructions

Prepare the Oven and Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Set aside.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In another large bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, granulated sugar, and eggs until well combined. Stir in the pumpkin puree, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Incorporate Dry to Wet: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing gently just until no flour streaks remain. Be careful not to overmix.

Prepare Cream Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and flour, mixing until fully combined and creamy.

Layer the Mixtures: Pour half of the pumpkin batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the pumpkin batter. Pour the remaining pumpkin batter on top, followed by the rest of the cream cheese mixture.

Swirl It: Using a knife or a skewer, gently swirl the cream cheese mixture into the pumpkin batter to create a marbled effect, being careful not to overmix.

Bake: Bake for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If the top starts to brown too quickly, tent it with aluminum foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.

Cool Down: Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve: Slice and serve the pumpkin cream cheese swirl loaf warm or at room temperature. Enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea!
