Ingredients

1 pre-made pie crust (9-inch)

6 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup whole milk

1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated

1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped

1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Pie Crust: Place the pre-made pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Press it down gently and trim any excess edges. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling and bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.

Sauté the Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onions until translucent and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

Mix the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and whole milk until well combined. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and nutmeg for added flavor.

Combine the Filling Ingredients: Stir in the sautéed onions, chopped bacon, and grated Gruyère cheese into the egg mixture until evenly distributed.

Assemble the Quiche: Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust, ensuring an even distribution of the bacon, cheese, and onions.

Bake the Quiche: Carefully place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown. You can check for doneness by inserting a knife into the center—if it comes out clean, it is ready.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before slicing.

Enjoy: Serve warm or at room temperature with a side salad for a delightful meal!
