Ingredients

1 large apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup milk

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Cooking spray for air fryer

Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Prepare the batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, and vanilla extract together. Gradually add this mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Fold in apple and nuts: Gently incorporate the diced apple and chopped nuts (if using) into the batter, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.

Shape the fritters: Using a spoon or an ice cream scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of the batter into the air fryer basket. Leave enough space between each fritter for them to expand.

Spray and cook: Lightly spray the fritters with cooking spray to help them crisp up. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Cool and dust: Once done, carefully remove the fritters from the air fryer and let them cool slightly on a wire rack. Before serving, dust with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness and presentation.

Serve and enjoy: Serve warm, and enjoy these delightful apple fritters with a cup of coffee or tea!
