Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons active dry yeast

1 ½ cups warm water (110°F/43°C)

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

2 teaspoons salt

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)

Flaky sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir lightly and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Mix the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture, olive oil, chopped rosemary, and minced garlic.

Knead the Dough: Using a wooden spoon, mix until a shaggy dough forms. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.

First Rise: Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Shape the Rolls: Once risen, punch down the dough to release the gas. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball. Place the rolls on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space in between.

Second Rise: Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise again for about 30-40 minutes until puffy.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while the rolls are rising.

Brush and Salt: Once the rolls have risen, brush the tops with the melted butter and sprinkle flaky sea salt on top for added flavor.

Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

Cool and Serve: Remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool on a wire rack. Serve warm with butter or your favorite dip!
