Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup rolled oats

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

Preheat The Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix The Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

Add Chocolate and Nuts: Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Spread the Batter: Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly using a spatula.

Drizzle with Caramel: Pour the caramel sauce over the layer of batter, making sure to cover the surface as much as possible.

Top with Remaining Batter: Gently drop spoonfuls of the remaining batter over the caramel layer, spreading it out to cover as much as possible (it’s okay if some caramel shows through).

Sprinkle with Sea Salt: Lightly sprinkle sea salt over the top of the batter for an added flavor boost.

Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

Cool and Slice: Allow the turtle bars to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice into squares or bars.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve these indulgent turtle bars warm or at room temperature as a delightful treat for friends and family!
