For the Spicy Butter:

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 tablespoon hot sauce (like Tabasco or your favorite brand)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional – adjust to taste)

Zest of 1 lime

Instructions

Prepare the Grits:

    - In a large saucepan, bring the water or chicken broth to a boil. Add a pinch of salt.

      - Slowly whisk in the stone-ground grits, stirring continuously to prevent clumps.

        - Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

          - Once cooked, stir in the heavy cream, cheddar cheese, butter, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.

            Make the Spicy Butter:

              - In a small bowl, combine the room temperature butter, hot sauce, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and lime zest. Mix until well combined. Set aside.

                Prepare the Shrimp:

                  - In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.

                    - Add the shrimp, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper.

                      - Cook the shrimp for about 3-4 minutes, until they turn pink and opaque, stirring occasionally.

                        Combine and Serve:

                          - To serve, scoop a generous portion of the creamy grits onto a plate or in a bowl.

                            - Top the grits with the sautéed shrimp, and dollop a spoonful of the spicy butter over the shrimp.

                              - Garnish with sliced green onions and parsley for a fresh touch.

                                Enjoy your Coastal Bliss!
