1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and drained

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon sriracha (or other hot sauce)

1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional for sweetness)

Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
 

Prepare the Tofu:

    - Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

      - Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes (about 1 inch) and place them in a large mixing bowl.

        Make the Marinade:

          - In a separate small bowl, mix together olive oil, soy sauce, sriracha, and maple syrup (if using). Pour this mixture over the tofu cubes and gently toss to coat them evenly.

            Season the Tofu:

              - In another bowl, combine cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Sprinkle this dry mixture over the marinated tofu and toss gently again until all pieces are evenly coated.

                Bake the Tofu:

                  - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Spread the coated tofu pieces in a single layer on the baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching.

                    - Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping the tofu halfway through until they are golden brown and crispy.
