Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1 pound ground beef or turkey

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian seasoned)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped parsley

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Sauce:

1 cup barbecue sauce (your choice of sweetness)

1/2 cup grape jelly

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for extra flavor)

Instructions

Prepare the Meatballs:

    - In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined.

      - Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs, ensuring they are packed tightly yet not overly compressed.

        Brown the Meatballs (Optional):

          - For added flavor and a nice texture, you can brown the meatballs in a skillet over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden. This step is optional but recommended.

            Make the Sauce:

              - In a medium bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, grape jelly, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and smoked paprika until smooth.

                Slow Cook:

                  - Place the meatballs in the bottom of the crockpot. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the meatballs, ensuring each one is coated.

                    - Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.

                      Serve:

                        - Once cooked, gently stir the meatballs in the sauce to coat them again before serving.

                          - Serve the meatballs on toothpicks for appetizers, or spoon them over rice or pasta for a hearty meal. Garnish with additional chopped parsley for a fresh touch.
