Ingredients

2 ripe mangos, diced

1 ripe avocado, diced

1/2 red onion, finely chopped

1 red bell pepper, deseeded and diced

1 jalapeño pepper, deseeded and minced (adjust to taste)

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Juice of 2 limes

Zest of 1 lime

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin for a smoky flavor

Instructions

Prepare Ingredients: Start by peeling and dicing the mangos and avocado. Make sure to chop everything into similar-sized pieces for even mixing.

Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the diced mangos, avocado, red onion, red bell pepper, and jalapeño. Be careful not to mash the avocado.

Add Freshness: Stir in the chopped cilantro for a fresh flavor boost.

Season: Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture, adding the lime zest for an extra zing. Season with salt, pepper, and optional ground cumin, stirring gently to mix.

Taste Test: Take a small taste and adjust any seasoning according to your preference, maybe adding another squeeze of lime or more salt.

Chill: For the best flavor, cover the salsa with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to an hour to allow the flavors to meld together.

Serve: Serve your Tangy Mango Avocado Salsa with tortilla chips, piled on tacos, or as a refreshing topping for grilled chicken or fish.
